NAHT president elect Rachel Younger chooses Buttle UK as NAHT’s charity partner 2024/25

Buttle UK is a charity dedicated to helping children and young people in crisis in the UK.

NAHT president elect Rachel Younger tells us why she’s chosen Buttle UK as NAHT’s charity partner for her presidential year in this short video:

With the support of partners like NAHT, we provide individual grants for children in poverty and crisis. These packages of support, worth up to £2,400, are made up of tangible items and activities to support the physical, emotional and educational needs of the children and young people we support.

We’d love to say these grants are made up of extraordinary items and activities, but the truth is they consist of things that we would expect any child growing up in the UK to have, but which these parents and carers cannot afford.

Our grants include items such as:

  • £50 for a new set of shirts and trousers for school uniforms
  • £100 for activities to help children settle into community
  • £250 for a bed frame, mattress, duvet, pillow, bedding
  • £400 for a laptop for study

By meeting immediate, practical needs, we help provide a stable foundation to support children and young people to recover from trauma and unlock their potential. Through our work over the years, we have seen how even the smallest interventions can have the most profound impact on the young people we support.

You can find out more about the impact of our grants on the lives of children, young people and their families here.

As a charity we are only able to do this with your support. With the cost-of-living crisis pushing so many vulnerable families to breaking point, this support is so critical in meeting the growing demand for our help. To donate to our work, click the link below.
